G Force Competition Teams
Master Ji trains students to compete in Taekwondo tournaments for Sparring, Demo/Board Breaking, and Poomsae. Each G Force team trains throughout the week to advance their physical and mental skills in preparation for local, National, and International events.
These are are special teams with additional rules that team members have to follow. There is a one-time joining fee to pay for the team uniform and an additional monthly fee along with the monthly tuition.
Students can try out for a G Force team at any time. Students that are over 7 years old and are above orange belt should see Master Ji if you are interested.
The Poomsae team trains to excel at a set sequence of movements that consists of the various fundamental stances, blocks, punches and kicks logically arranged in a meaningful order in response to attacks from multiple imaginary assailants. Each Poomsae pattern consists of an established sequence of movements which has a philosophical meaning, and each Poomsae has its own character and distinct quality. Master Ji's team uses this training to compete at local tournaments.
WTF Taekwondo sparring is a full medal sport in the Olympics and other major international sporting events. Master Ji's Sparring Team learns the technical skills and strategies to compete in local tournaments. The team practices offensive techniques leveraging different types of kicking and footwork and defensive techniques such as blocking. In addition, the team trains to improve endurance and strength. Those who enjoy sparring competition enjoy taking chances, being tough, and responding to the unpredictability of the match.
In Creative Breaking / Demo team competition, Master Ji's competitors use powerful, correctly executed Taekwondo hand and foot techniques to break pine boards. Competitors are expected to display technical skill and proper Taekwondo manner, as well as showmanship and creativity including the use of a range of flying and spinning kicks. The Demo team also incorporates breaking techniques into choreographed routines that are performed at community events and the annual Monroe Fair Days parade.
Master Ji’s G Force Nationals Team is an invitation only elite competition team that focuses on Olympic-style Taekwondo Sparring. Team training focuses on sparring, conditioning, and tournament strategy with the goal of competing and winning in National and International level tournaments. Team members must be dedicated to the sport of Taekwondo, have family support to meet advanced Taekwondo goals, and be able to travel out of state to compete. Training commitments for this team include extended hours, weekends, cross-school sessions, and special seminars. The team is supported by the GForce Taekwondo Athletes Association (GTAA) 501(c)(3) non-profit.
